If there is one thing that the political parties in Washington agree on, it is nuclear power. They want more of it. In fact, building new nuclear power plants remains a major part of all future energy programs. We'll discuss the realities of relying on such a deadly form of energy, especially in light of what Japan has learned about its reliance on nuclear power and what might happen if a similar disaster struck in the U.S.
Jackie Cabasso has long been a national leader in the grassroots struggle against nuclear power and weapons. Her organization was founded in order to provide legal counsel to people who were arrested protesting the building of the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant in California in 1982.
